I’m a Lead Applied Scientist at ShareChat in the United Kingdom, working on machine learning applications to a broad set of problems, focused on recommendation. I obtained my PhD at the University of Antwerp in Belgium, where I worked in the Adrem Data Lab under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bart Goethals. My dissertation was titled “Offline Approaches to Recommendation with Online Success”. Generally, my research interests revolve around machine learning, specifically applying ideas from causal and countefactual inference to information retrieval and recommender systems.

I enjoy working on a synthesis of theory and application, and have been lucky to collaborative with various industrial research laboratories aside from ShareChat throughout my studies, including Amazon, Spotify Research, Facebook, Criteo, Technicolor, and several University of Antwerp spin-offs.
